Although I really do admire these spunky "little dogs", there are no varieties to the Australian Shepherd Breed. KUSA (Kennel Union of Southern Africa), AKC (American Kennel Club), ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America and registry for Australian Shepherd) do not recognize or register so called miniatures. Nor are they registered or recognized as a breed by either of these registration bodies

They are incorrectly promoted as a variety of the Australian Shepherd Breed. This little dog is now on the development register in the States as a North American Shepherd (NAS) and once accepted will be know as a North American Shepherd (NAS) and NOT a Miniature Aussie.
